I thought to create this thread because i would find it seriously interesting to see what you people are into. So i will start off so you know me a little more.

Name of line: Winter Dark Clothing
Style of Dress: Everything Gothic (including retro gothic)
Highest priced item: A dress made out of gold leaf, that is made for a wedding dress, in the design of actual autumn leaves, that flows across the floor and comes with a hat and gloves to match.
Name of line: A Touch of Darkness Designs.
Style of designs: Mostly fitted. Romantic, with longer lines to flatter hips of all sizes. :)
Material: Silk and Satin, Cotton and Lace, some Twill and Tartan, and quite a bit of Leather too.
Clothing: Fishtail skirts, Corset tops, Camisoles, Leather gloves, jackets and long duster coats.
Accessories: Pearl beading. Silver Filigree Buckles. Garnet and Jet crystals.

Your dress sounds beautiful Venus, just the right kind of thing for an Elven wedding. :)
And this is a great idea for a thread. :D

Wow you have so much gear in your line  Makes me look like a pretender  Oh well at least all my stuff will be gothic if i started up my own line. :) The dress i said about is actually something i am designing at this moment in time to get created and fitted to my size for my wedding with like Gold silk, not being real gold leaf that would be like 12,000 pounds to get lol :( However this dress will still cost me about 1,000 pounds apparently and thats from the cheapest person haha -_- Great! <_<

Glad you like the thread

From Venus.

I have always wanted to have a romantic, exclusive boutique and sell terrific clothes. I would never make a designer as I have no sewing skills whatsoever, but I have quite a good imagination and have thought about the kinds of things I would sell if I were to ever open my boutique.
The above is part of my wish list of inventory. There is lots more.
I think to include it all I would have to open a huge store rather than something small and intimate.
But I always dream big.

Good luck with your dress and your wedding. I hope both are beautiful. :)

Name: Black.

Lots of black, of course, tight shirts and black jackets with a touch of silver, somewhat baggy faded grey and black jeans, mostly easy to wear clothes that are suited to any situation. Hardly any prints, if any, which would mostly include ankhs and simplified pictures of wings on the back. Stands out, but only by simplicity. Jewelry would also be silver, including ankhs and other ancient symbols. Focus would be on rings and bracelets. Sneakers, also black with a touch of white where appropriate.

Pretty much what I wear every day, but when shopping now I have to be extremely picky to get the sort of look I'm going for.
I think when you have an individual style from any genre you have to be extremely choosy these days.
It can be easy to 'pollute' your look with drab everyday stuff that everyone would wear, and so lose the essential individuality you're aiming for.
Generic fashion has nothing in it that I would wear except jeans, and even they should be black and reach up as far as my waist.
Hipsters are for silly young things who do not feel the cold and for sad old people trying to pretend they are silly young things.
Thankfully I do not come into either of those groups. :D
I love faded grey, there is something so comforting about it as a colour. Like the garment has been well worn and well washed, but is still LOVED, is still someones favourite jumper or pair of jeans.
Your range of clothing sounds great Sedriel. Elegance in simplicity is always good. :)

ooooh lovely...... hipsters ...builders bum made fashionable

I don't think I have a look other than variations on slightly to very scrumpled.

I am one of those unfortunate individuals that drove his parents bonkers by going out in brand new jeans and getting something indescribable all over them.
The only trouble is I didnt grow out of it.
I still go out and pick up ferrets in my nice coat or start sorting out a pheasant in my brand new t shirt.

Bit of a lost cause in the clothes scene I think...I always was.

Name of line - Beauty is the beast

Style - everything has a twist either someting kinky which is elegant and pretty also or something elegant and pritty with a kink to it. For example thigh length leaher boots with a pink fluffy band around the ankle or a pair of pink pom poms hanging from the zip or a pink bunny on them. A leather mini skirt with a pink flower on the bum, a corset with a powder blue lace inset under the lacing. A long floaty skirt in a sheer silky material with tiny spiders climbing out from the waistband and scattered all down the skirt, a traditional white wedding dress with a snake climbing up the train in black and red

Colours, mainly black with accents of either dark reds, purple and cerise or pale pastels emrbroidered with black red or purple in designs of spiders snakes and scorpions

jewellery.....delicate sliver bracelets necklaces and earrings, pretty in outlook but with dark designs. Stones are small and shaped, amber, jet, ruby, moonstone etc.

The key is that things look like one thing from a distance but has a read surprise when seen up close....a bit like me :D

Wow what a great thread this is becoming. Never thought this thread would be so popular. Thank you all. I have come to realise that all your comments have been very interesting and i like to see that you have all contributed in some way. I think if we opened a superstore called Gothika or something it would be the most amazing thing ever created. How about we really do that? lol:lol:

<_< Yeah i know stupid question it would never really work out... However i am always willing to try......i am not joking lol:rolleyes: Put all these clothing lines together and it will be something the earth has never seen before...first ever Gothic Superstore. Like Tesco but with more attitude lol:)

What would your idea's for a superstore be?

From Venus

A superstore? I myself would choose a hard to find boutique somewhere in an alley of an old city like Zwolle here in the Netherlands... God I love that city...

But a superstore... Well it should have something else, something besides fashion, something no other store has... Apart from good service, etcetera. Now what would that one thing be?

I know, I know! We should have a "special" department, where there are no lights exept for a red neon line in the center of the path. It would house the most exclusive of our designs, and only be known to our most loyal customers... It would add a bit of extra mystique to the store, might even turn into an urban legend or something over time...
