It seems as though many young kin begin their awakening through Wicca, or at least an interest in it. Wicca seems to have something that calls to kin but it is not quite....there. So where is there? What is it about Wicca that calls and why? What is it about Wicca that is not quite right?
I became interested in the occult more through fantasy, which may or may not be a good thing. I began to believe in myself at a very young age, but didn't quite grasp the concept that I was ACTUALLY not the same as my parents and other people around me. The fantasy worlds of JRR Tolkien and other authors were something I related to on a very deep level, and eventually I came to know about magick (sort of discovered it was real on my own), and eventually my soul.
i know this may seem silly but i got into wiccan becouse of my family we all suffer from diff eilments and are sick of tablet taking i came across a book called wiccan healing by sally morningstar i read the whole book at to it made me realise this is the way i wanted to be
We all find our paths in different ways. Sorry to hear that you have found yours through the illness of yourself and your family but there are far worse ways to come to the craft that through a desire to be a healer.
healing is what i found i can do and to help gives me great rewards too:D
That is wonderful. To find a calling and to be rewarded by the act of giving to others. I wish that I had that in my life. I have just tended to drift into things and then get stuck. :)
I was drawn to it at first, but lack of means in order to actually perform any more ritualistic workings caused me to look for alternatives. Only later did I find out what I was doing exactly, turns out I'd been energyworking or whatever you want to call it for one and a half year or so without ever looking into the theory whatsoever. That's pretty much how I discovered that I was erm...I don't like to brag, don't take this the wrong way, but kind of a natural.

What's not quite right? I think most kin like to do things on their own, without the help of all too much gods or godesses whatsoever. They like to be their own boss, so to speak. Just my theory.
Natural ability is a wonderful thing. Whatever it is the ability to do, it is a gift, and as such is meant to be shared and utilised.
You're very fortunate Sedriel. :)
I can understand your reluctance to 'brag' as you call it. (I would call it sharing.) lol
As many people who do not have it but wish they did, tend to react badly and make you feel ashamed of it. Or even worse treat you like you're lying!
I have no natural abilities in that way, but not truly being an envious personality, I can say, you lucky thing, I hope you use it well. :)
