There are many times, when I am being very quiet, especially when I am outdoors, I hear music. Sometimes it is voices and sometimes it is just music. I never hear it clearly and it is always just on the very edge of hearing so that I am never sure whether I hear it with my inner or outer ears.
Does anyone else hear this music and do you have any thoughts about where it may be coming from?
i'd suggest just to meditate too it and focus 100% of your mind on it and im sure you'll find the answer =]
I have tried that. I suppose it is just not the time for me to hear yet
Or maybe the very fact that the sound is just on the borders of hearing that is the message I am failing to understand

It's very true that most things are simply waiting for you to comprehend them. Perhaps you are not ready, and perhaps it is waiting for when you don't expect the stimulus to occur.
It is also very possible that what you are hearing is not so much directed at you as detectable by you. If so, you may never get a better listen, or will become entangled in an issue that wasn't intended for your involvement, but such a chance would be interesting, indeed.
I would bide more time, to see if you hear it again. When/if you do, listen to the sound, it may get stronger or reveal more to you. The best advice for such an event would be to remain open, receptive and don't push your imagination to carry you off on an unreal tangent (I tend to have that problem - haha..)
I'm sure you were already aware of most (if not all) of this, however. =)

Thank you. I find that I am, indeed, my own worst enemy in things like this. I lack patience and I am also prone to mind wanderings. I will let you know if anythign develops
