i have always heard tales of the relationship between Were's and silver. How it burns the flesh of Were's, how just a piece cutting your flesh contaminates the blood stream and slowly kills you. I want to know how much of that is hollywood and how much is actuality. I know there have been Were's on here who have said they are affected negatively by silver. I want to know how many of us are, how many aren't and if it's related in anyway by type of Were/sex/age or what have you.
I find silver to be calming, safe. It is as if silver is protection, not infliction. I do not like gold, copper or any other metal. white gold does please, but as much as silver does. what are your thoughts?

The only type of silver anything that bothers me is silver paper.
If I happen to leave a bit of silver foil on a sweet then it hits one of my fillings ...wowooowww is that horrible.
But thats a chemical reaction between the amalgum in my fillings and the aluminium foil ..and really very explainable.
As for the movie stuff ...if you shot me with a silver bullet it would hurt just as much as a lead one.
Sudden onset lead or silver poisoning ...doesn't matter which it is your still dead.

yea silver only effects me when it hits my fillings but now all my filling teeth fell out i wont have 2 worry about that anymore
I think is has to do with the moon. Silver is the metal assocaited with the moon and weres are supposed to be linked to the phases of the moon. Also the moon is supposed to be assocaited with mental illness which is what a lot of people believe lycanthropy to be and so I suppose that is where the connections comes in. All very mythical but with very little factual basis.
i just never understood why the moon would bring us pain while we were connected to it. the moon never seemed anything but protective and kind to me. why, then, would they get the logic that her counterpart would hurt us? the thing that 'gives' us power kills us? that's just plain silly. those silly silly people.
