I just thought maybe I could clear up a few things for you, so if you don't mind here is my top ten of Elven living.

1. It's I am an elf - we are elves - I am/we are elvin - I am/we are elven.

2. We differ in looks just like all of you, some are tall, but not all. Hair colour differs from elf to elf, though there are not many red heads that I have met. You do not have to be slim, although I have never personally met an elf who was not. Don't get me wrong that doesn't mean there are not larger elves out there it just means I haven't met them yet!

3. Not all elves are beautiful, although most of them do have a mysterious attractiveness that humans seem to find irresistable.

4. Not all elves are good bowmen/women. I have known elves who could not hit a barn if they were standing next to it let alone from hundreds of feet away.

5. Thankfully for some of us archery is by no means all we do. We have musicians/singers, artists, magicians, silver smiths, trackers/hunters, climbers, warriors, horse riders, weavers, teachers, and many other things. Also most of us are (or at least can be if we choose) accomplished thieves and pickpockets.

6, Bows are not our only weapons. From youngsters we are chosen a weapon by a tutor who knows us well and knows which weapon would suit us best and taught how to use it to the best of our abilities. Weapons include; bows, knives/daggers, staffs/staves, axes, and catapults/slingshots.

7. We are not immortal in the true sense of the word. We can live for many hundreds of years but eventually we grow old and die just like most other living things.

8. We have deity, we just don't discuss it much, as mostly, in our opinion, religion and disagreements about it have caused far too many wars. If you don't want to argue about religion, then just don't talk about it.

9. We are the tree dwellers of the forest woodland tribes. (Faeries and pixies are the ones who live in flowers and under toadstools)

10. We do not fly.

There, that should help a little I hope.
If there are any more questions ask and I will try to answer them for you if they are sensible.

Blessings and Peace.

Elvin Dreams.

Now, firstly, understand that there are different sides to every story. Different Elven houses believe different things. Also, if you ask about the history to the Light Elves, you will get a completely different answer from the Dark Elves. This is the history of the Elven people from my houses point of view.

Firstly, know that my people love flowers. All Elfin voices from all places, light and dark, will agree with this.

There was an age when time still knew nothing about tomorrows. It was an age without beginning or end: one cold endless night and one endless sunny day, facing each other in the garden of space where the gods themselves dreamed.

We were called the “Dream People”. We were sent to arrange the world. We were instructed to plant forests, construct mountains, dig valleys, spread seas, lay the beds of rivers, and build on this world the majestic palaces the gods had imagined.

Once the world was complete, we were abandoned. Stranded like the founding angels of a magic island, in exile….

The people of the dreams of light –the Liosalfar –then claimed the snowy mountaintops, the sunny places, mirages, and the reflections on lake waters.

The people of the dark dreams –the Svartalfar –dug deep underground, secreting themselves away in mines and the darkness of night.

The others, the undecided – the Dokkalfar – remained on the borders of dawn and twilight, between Alfheim, the kingdom of the Elves, home of the white Elves, and Svartalfaheim, the kingdom of the Alfs, home of the black Elves.

The Humans who came later made that into legends.

In the years before the Humans, there were wars. Wars with Ogres and with Dragons. The war with Dragons almost killed off both Elven and Dragon…A young Elf and a young dragon befriended one another and a pact in the ancient tongue was made…and since then Dragon and the Elven have lived closely, sharing quite a large bond.

Year after year, human dreams invaded the ancient dreams of the gods and, in doing so, weakened them. Enchantment no longer sprang from the soul’s belief. Thus humans threw curses against the Elves of light, confusing the beneficent healing Elves with demons.

This moved the good Elves to join their brethren of the night. We became invisible and hid amongst the humans to survive. We rarely appear to anyone other than our own kind. However, sometimes you may find one of us in the woods following behind.
However, we tend to randomly come into lives and randomly leave them. We are very free spirited in that sense.

There are still hard feelings between Liosalfar and Svartalfar…and as far as Dokkalfar, they remain in between.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask…I will do my best to answer.

This particular point is hotly contested by other members who have knowledge that contradicts the information given here. Their opinion is also only that. Their opinion.
Choose a side or don't that is up to you. But although we understand feelings can sometimes run away with everyone, respect for the opinions and input of others is expected and appreciated at all times.
Thankyou.
