Ok I know msot folk belive th enumber of the beast or sometimes hte devil to be 666 but I have it on good information (ie a version of th ebible before it was trnaslated to death) that the middle number of most copies was scrubbed. Why is important but not here. I'm more curiouse to what th emiddle number was. See in the bible 6 is an earthly number earth was created in 6 days for example but also when cast down to it Satin begin to appear laongside 6 mainly co she is now of the earth. Anywyas htis mystery missing number coudl be anythign but Iwwunna run you by a theory. I reckon it is 7 as in 676 . Why? Well7 is a heavenly number Gods day is sunday the 7t day most hgins to do with got are 7 all gd things well...Godly things in revelations are 7 based and seeing as Satin is a falen angle would 7 not make sense? HE still retains some heavinly power and a 7 woudl be fitting as he did use t be of heaven. Also th enumber 676 is divisble by 13 which is a number of disaster in the bible. 666 is the number of the magic square associated with the Sun, and 6 is the number associated with the Moon, hence 666 is the combination of the Sun and the Moon. Make of that what you will.

Just thought I'd jump in here with the new theory, well, relatively new, that the number 666 is actually wrong. There has been some re-examination of the text found on what was I think one of the dead sea scrolls some time back and they now think the number of the beast is actually 616. This they link to Caligula.
But, and there is always a but..... it's down to personal belief. Some theologians don't accept this new theory.

i don't know if i really believe in the number of the beast. the same as i do not believe that Satan is truly evil, has horns and hooves, or that that basically anything in the bible is something to take completely to heart. it was screwed the first time it was put into one book.
anyway. if there was a number long ago, it would have been morphed into 666. not for any reason for the numbers specific meanings, but because of the beliefs behind them. believing in something gives it power. the number it had originated with is of no consequence because 666 is the one that has those beliefs tied to it. if anyone could feed from that sort of power they wouldn't stick with the unknown numbers, they would go with 666.
and thirteen is only a bad number because the stupid pope killed off all the knights of templar on friday the thirteenth. personally 13 is my lucky number (though that could be due to me being born on friday the 13th
) but that's my thoughts... yep.

in all honesty i don't know if i believe in 'Satan' or 'God'. i believe in life and death and good and evil but i also believe in neutrality and balance. The reason i don't believe in satan or god is because these divine beings aren't human. I hate it that everyone thinks that if god existed it'd act the way a human does. hello! not human! and the picture of satan (horns and hooves, usually a goat head) was a ploy by the church to make pagans look like satanists (still a misconstrued thought to this day) by taking the pagans fertility god and using its image as their satan. if the stories are half true satan was an angel. a beautiful, heavenly creature. you would most likely cry in the face of such beauty, fearing it's holy visage instead of its grotesque red, dripping, horned, hooved, monster form. i believe in the Maker. But i don't believe the Maker is an actual being per say. truthfully the only reason i believe in the Maker is because i was brought to the edge of death once, and i've had a memory of me when i was an animal. Near death i felt the joy and awareness beyond the constrictions of a mortal shell. It was like falling into the arms of a loving parent. That could also be because, in this experience, i had left the pains of mortal life behind. but anyway. in my memory of being in my animal form i was running and laughing and playing with the joyful presence around me. It was everywhere, this peaceful thing. And i knew it to be my Maker, and the Maker of all things and i relished it, knowing i would not always feel my Maker in everything.
i don't believe that jesus was the 'messiah'. i believe he was a good person, and dabbled in strong magicks, but i don't think he was what people have turned him into. Anyway, according to their books we are all the children of god and are made in gods image and blah blah blah. so we're the same as jesus then, except he was better at magick.
