how about instead of having to ask you guys to change names you just have a lil thing like on some forums and you can change your name and stuff when you want kinda like the myspace thing with you have your URL and you cant change that but you can change your S/N anytime you want..just a thought

Imagine what a nightmare that would be for the moderators!
Silly kids posting rubbish and being rude and then changing their screen names every five minutes. Having to read the IP numbers of every post to see who made it and then compare it to other posts that may or may not belong to the same IP number.
The moderators would be revolting in no time. (Please no obvious remarks about the moderators being revolting already alright? They are all brilliant)
They'd need at least 8 more hours in every day in order to be able to moderate a board like that surely?

This is actually the only forum we allow users to change names and even then it's a one time deal and will be announced to everyone. As has been said by Velvet Darkness constantly changing your identity will be a pain, not just to the moderators but to everyone.
Imagine the sentence above if in ten minutes time Velvet Darkness has changed her name to FlowerySunbeam and now you have no idea who I'm talking about.
Plus you're haydos to me, you could never be anything else, we need our haydos!!!
I actually met someone off another forum a few months back spent the entire time calling him his screen name, that's how i'd known him for a year and i couldn't get my head around using his proper name :s
